Last Weekend - The not fun part
This is a bit delayed... Jim is going to update on the fun parts of last weekend later with pictures. It was a weekend of firsts… good and bad. Hadley rolled over for the first time not counting the three times she did as a newborn and her body followed wherever her head went. Hadley was also baptized on Sunday. Then Sunday night she got her first fever… maybe it was the baptism water that the Deacon informed us had been in the font since Easter. This was all topped off by the first visit to the ER for either of the kids on Monday night/Tuesday morning. Hadley was sporting a 103 temp at 10pm on Monday night which prompted a call to the doctor who said head to the ER. Jim stayed with Madeleine who had thrown up on her grandma earlier in the night and then again in her bed while I was calling the exchange about Hadley. Poor Hadley was poked and prodded a zillion different ways with a final diagnosis of a virus. I was getting a little annoyed with the ER doc who kept saying she was leaning towards the spinal tap because Hadley was so fussy. Hadley was only crying when they were sticking needles and catheters in her and trying to flush out her ears. I was getting fussy just watching all of this. But then she chugged 4oz, showed the ER doc she could be calm and our doctor was called and he said we could watch and wait. It was not a fun night for any of us but thankfully we were sent home with watch and wait instead of the spinal tap they were debating doing. Her fever broke Tuesday afternoon and she is back to her smiley self. One side note is that the children's ER at MO Bap is pretty nice and the nurses were great but hopefully we won't be seeing it again for a long time!
